Hi Guys,
Why don't we understand a fact that a complete re-architectured/coded DE would take some time to get it stable?
how did you feel when KDE 3.1 was out? it took almost two years to become stable with the roll out of 3.5 which you guys want to stay back.
Come on..we have to move on when the whole world is moving on..its the nature of nature.
I've been useing KDE 4.4 since its release last Feb 9th. For me, It's stable and really amazing.
I did blog few things which makes the KDE more beautiful on.. kde4world.wordpress.com

@shortbaldman
KDE 3.5.x is dead. If you are smart enough to revive it, then go ahead and do yourself. Here I explain why:

KDE 3.5.x is accumulation of years of coding, and a lot of things are not done nicely inside there. That's why they try to clean it up and do something right with KDE 4, and it takes time. Furthermore, Qt 3, the toolkit behind KDE 3.5.x is also too old and almost dead. Qt 4 is much nicer and advanced. Straight porting KDE 3.5.x to Qt 4 will also require tremendous effort, because of the massive changes introduced in Qt 4.

Well, apparently there are still KDE 3 fans - plus one more here. Running it for more than 2 years, and it's stable like hell. For me, KDE 4 is a step back, especially when you come from KDE3. I haven't given it a lot of chances - annoyed me a lot and it was dead and gone in favor of KDE 3.5.10. Yes, Amarok sometimes has issues, I don't know how to report them, as the behavior is inconsistent. But the level of customization that KDE 3 provides is something that I can't loose plus the killing integration that OpenSuse provides. Also, I have a general rule not to update packages, and I'm criticized a lot for that, but I can't afford to break the env with some crappy piece of code.
KDE4 just looks rubbish to me, it kinda brings me back to Win 3.x and 95 styles but mostly the inability to customize.

Like all of us I like to customise certain parts of my desktop, such as I like a different background color for each virtual desktop, I like my icons arranged in certain position in the panel, I like that I can pull an application icon from konqueror straight down onto the panel without being told I don't have permission to customise that icon, I like that I have a Control Center with SUFFICIENT control instead of a half-arsed apology for one and that is why I continue to use KDE3 instead of using KDE4.

Yes, I know, I haven't "given KDE4 a chance", but YES I HAVE and SEVERAL TIMES whenever I have been told "KDE 4.1 is good now", then "KDE4.2 is good now", then "KDE4.3 is good now" and then "KDE4.4 is good now".....

Come on, guys. You don't need to take KDE4 out and shoot it. IT'S DEAD, JIM!

Backtrack to KDE3.5.x and start again from there!
